thermos

Our vacuum glass is based on the proven vacuum thermos bottle. By separating two panes of glass with small pillars and sealing the edges, a micro-void space is created between the two panes. The air is removed with sophisticated vacuum pumps. The gap between the panes is kept 0.4 mm by the tiny pillars, and the vacuum is pulled down to 10-4 Pa.

Due to the inside vacuum, the conduction and convection of heat between the panes is almost nil. In addition, the LOW-E coating reflects more than 85% of the infrared back into the room. For these reasons, our Vacuum Insulating Glass (VIG) dramatically reduces heat loss from conduction, convection and radiation. ICESUN VIG glass provides for a beautiful window and a superb thermal barrier.

Size of vacuum glass: max. 3000×2000(mm); min. 200×200(mm); Thickness 6~20 (mm)

Guidelines:

  1. VIG not only can be used independently, but also be used with insulating glass, laminated glass and solar glass.
  2. If VIG is used for windows, used in casement window is better rather than in sliding window because the latter’s seal is lax which would reduce VIG performance.
  3. Different type and specification of glass is used in VIG depending on weather conditions, purposes and functions.
  4. VIG cannot be cut. The size (Length and width) of VIG is the same as insulating glass for same window profiles.
  5. Annealed VIG should be installed vertically. Tempered VIG can be installed obliquely or horizontally.
  6. Don’t use the VIG if it appearance shows cracks, scratches or rainbow patterns. Don’t scratch on VIG with hard object. Deep scratches would reduce the service life significantly.
  7. VIG is provided with a cap to protect the evacuation glass tube. Don’t remove, extrude or crush the cap.
  8. The sealing edge of VIG must be installed inside the window frame and cannot be exposed.
  9. The location which VIG is installed should be far away from heating and cooling equipment. Avoid cold or hot air blowing directly only on a partial area of the glass. Don’t paste the film and paper on VIG. It may cause glass breakage.
  10. Vacuum-mirror (vacuum-indicator) should be placed at the upper-right corner of window.
  11. Please use tempered glass if the temperature differences of VIG between exterior and inner is over 50°C (122°F).
  12. Avoid shaking and hitting during handing, installing and using VIG. Vertical transport is permissible only. Don’t use glass sucker on VIG. It would cause VIG breakage. Soft pads must be placed beneath the VIG. Don’t put the VIG on the cement floor directly, so as to avoid hitting and scratching the VIG.

Warranty:

VIG is warranted for quality for 10 years against breakage or visual obstruction from the date of manufacture provided all recommended guidelines are followed. Longer warranty period is available – please inquire.

If vacuum is lost and the vacuum-mirror indicates failure during the warranty period outlined above, a new VIG will be provided free of charge, not including shipping cost.
